How to Suggest Changes and Resolve Suggestions
In this guide, you’ll learn how to set up your Scout account and prepare your first project.
Step 1: Select Text
- In your proposal, highlight the part of the text you want to change.
- A floating toolbar will appear above the highlighted text.
- Click the last option on the right, ‘Suggestion’.
Step 2: Make a Suggestion
A Make Suggestion panel will open on the right side of your writing canvas.
Choose one of the following:
- Suggest Changes → Replace the selected text with your new version.
- Delete → Mark the selected text for removal.
- Add → Insert new text immediately after the selection.
Step 3: Locate Suggestions to Review and Solve
All suggestions appear inline in the text so everyone can review them.
- Green → Suggested new or added text.
- Gray, strikethrough → Original text suggested for replacement.
- Red, strikethrough → Text suggested for deletion.
Step 4: Accept or Reject Suggestions
- Click directly on the highlighted text, or use the floating bubble on the right side of the canvas.
- Review your colleague’s suggestion.
- Choose Accept to apply the change or Reject to remove it.
- (Optional) Add a comment to explain your decision or invite further discussion.
